Maria Gloria Martinez, 62, who was born on
October 22, 1946 in Greeley, Colorado, went home to be with the lord and
her mother and father, Bernadine and Bennie Martinez, on January 22,
2009. She was surrounded by her four devoted children, Tammy, Frankie,
Michelle and Bobbi Jo, and her daughter-in-law, Stacia. She is also
survived by ten grandchildren, Bennie, Matthew, Jamie, Junior, Cody,
Marissa, Jordan, Kelsey, Alicia, and Isiah, and three son-in-laws, John,
Ricardo, and Gene. She also has four surviving siblings, who are Gene,
Shirley, Junior and Rita, and three nephews, Jeff, Aaron, and Alex, and
one niece, Desiree. She has made a difference in the lives of countless
children through being a foster mother and a teacher. She loved playing
bingo, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a
survivor of both thyroid and breast cancer, and she was never a person who
would give up easily. She was loved by all and we will miss her
tremendously. We will be having a Memorial Mass for her on Saturday,
January 31, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, which is
located at 9371 Wigham St. in Thornton, CO, 80229, with a reception to
follow at the church. Any friend or family member is welcomed.
