    Edward "Clar" Clarence Marquez

    May 13, 1954 - March 31, 2022

Edward "Clar" Clarence Marquez went to be with Our Lord and Savior on March 31, 2022. He was born in Trinidad, Colorado on May 13, 1954, to Anthony Marquez and Stella Vigil Marquez. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Odel Marquez; children and grandchildren Clayton (Dana) and Sophia Marquez; Katherine (Jeremy) Zogelmann; Jamie (Joey) and Chloe Salazar; GeorgieAnn Sanchez and CaeZaun. Siblings are Thomas; Rick (Charlotte); Diane Wanzo; and Chris (LucyAnn) Marquez; extended family aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Preceded in death by brother Ron and parents. Edward had may talents and many friends. He became a proficient x-ray tech and worked at Mt San Rafael Hospital in Trinidad and Miner’s Colfax Medical Center in Raton, NM. Managing the Black Lung Clinic in NM and contributing to Pulmonary Research through the University of New Mexico was very fulfilling as he served the population of coal miners and other underground miners. He mastered the art of driving the 18-wheel mobile unit to each weeklong clinics, twice monthly. At each clinic he would take x-rays, do pulmonary function testing, audiometry, and benefits counseling for miners. Edward loved to run! He felt free with the wind in his hair and the sunshine on his face! He ran the Boulder Bolder, Garden of the Gods, Cherry Creek Sneak, Turkey Trot, Cokedale to Trinidad Run, Pueblo Half Marathon, and several others on the front range. He loved to strum his guitar and sing. He enjoyed attending mass and then having breakfast with his ‘pack’. He enjoyed meeting people through his work as a Notary. He was brave, generous, forgiving and loving. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Edward is now part of a research study at Boston University CTE Center & Brain Bank, Boston, MA 02130. www.bu.edu/cte/ | www.annmckeemd.com. Contributions in his name can be made. “For you shall go out with Joy and be lead out with Peace. The Mountains and the Hills shall break forth into Singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12
