Julia Anna Gurule

December 23, 1930 - April 4, 2022

Julia Anna Gurule was born on Tuesday, December 23, 1930 in Trinidad, Colorado to Daniel Mares and Anna Deaguero. In her childhood she learned early about the healing power of Jesus Christ. She suffered from a skin disorder that almost left her blind. Only a miracle was going to relieve her of the disease. Well the miracle happened, and this recovery would be the basis of her belief that God was a healer if He was called on. I also think this was the beginning of her spiritual walk that would sustain her through the rest of her life. By the time she was a teenager, Julia and her older siblings were helping the family as field workers alongside mom and dad, however, moving to Denver, they found some very different jobs. Julia worked in a hot laundry, a potato chip company and on an assembly line for the Gates Rubber Company. Julia was a person who understood the worth of education. She completed her HS GED and because she was so self taught and motivated. Julia also had a hidden talent for music. She taught herself to play piano, was a great singer and could strum a guitar. She and our sister Dorothy even cut a record. She had a special relationship wit God that would carry her in victory through all of life's challenge and also bring about the greatest blessings. Julia Anna Gurule went home to be with her Lord on April 4, 2022. She is survived by Cindy Gurule Zitt, Sharon (Sherrie) Sanchez and Augustine (Ron) Sanchez Mother of: Drucille, Patty, Debbie, Nick. She was Grandmother of 9, Great-grandmother of 18 and Great-great-grandmother of 13. Rest in peace Julia. We will miss your extraordinary and unconditional love and heartfelt compassion. God be with you until we meet again. She will be missed by all who knew her.
