Roybal, Marcus Beloved Mother and Matriarch of our family, and most important a child of God. Deeply loved by her children, Betty, Juanita, Paul, Steve and Rudy. Also, Tina Lynn the granddaughter she adopted and raised. Most beloved grandmother to 24 grandchildren, and at least 60 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband of 67 years, John (Sandy), her children, Phillip, John (Sonny), Phylis, Sandra and three infant babies. Also, grandchildren, Candice, Katsina, Paula and Mike. Her parents Rupert and Georgia Garcia and siblings, Fermin, Lester, Petra, Francis, Cora and Sarah. Marcus Garcia was born in Kurner, Colo., a farming community, on October 8, 1917, lived a blessed life until age 103 years old. Moving to Denver at age 9, went to school at Mitchel, Cole, and Manual. She met her husband in grade school and always tells how smitten she was of him. They married on April 26, 1937 and made their home in East Denver. Marcus worked most of her life, being the best Mother, Housecleaning, Hospital Aid, Arsenal Worker, Rio Grande, Waitress and Cashier at Stapleton Airport where she retired from. She continued another twelve years working at a day care center for children and Seniors Inc., retiring for good at age 85. Most important was her love for God, A Seventh-Day Adventist Christian for 50 years. She was a member of the New-Community SDA Church. Holding various offices and always attended church. An avid study of the bible, her only source of Truth. Marcus always gave wise, solid and truthful council. “Always prayed about everything and worried about nothing”, she was a true prayer warrior. Words cannot describe our great loss and how much she will be missed. She was our “Rock “, she was our inspiration and hero. She prayed for us when we were sick, troubled, or having problems. Always our advocate and looking beyond our imperfections. She would say “I leave you my love and love for one another”. Marcus was one of those peculiar people, whom God favored. Mom, Grandma, YOU will always live in our hearts. Viewing will be Tuesday March the 2nd at Romero Family Funeral Home at Denver, Colorado at 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Christian Burial service is private.
