November 29, 2021
It is with profound sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our loving Husband, Father Grandfather, Brother, and friend, Paul “Paulie” Roybal, who passed away peacefully at home, November 29, 2021. Paul was born in his parent’s home in Denver, Colorado on October 8, 1946. He is survived by his loving Wife, Geri Martinez/Roybal, Son’s Paul (Lori) Roybal, John (Jeanette) Roybal, Daughter’s Janine (Jeff) Martinez, and Nicole (Jesse) Giron, 12 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren, and Siblings Betty Barcelona, Juanita (Rudy) Roybal, and Rudy (Terry) Roybal. Paul was preceded in death by his Parents John and Marcus Roybal, Daughter Paula Chavez/Roybal, and Siblings Sonny Roybal, Phylis Sisneros, Sandra Roybal, Phillip Roybal, and Steve Roybal. Paul was raised in Northeast Denver and spent his entire adult life in North Denver. He graduated from Manuel High School, received a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Colorado Denver, and completed post graduate work at the University of Denver. Paul was a competitor in life whether it was playing football, basketball, baseball, billiards, or fighting for the rights of the members in his community, yet with everything he did he always maintained his sense of humor and desire to make people laugh with his never-ending wit. In his leisure time he loved fishing, cheering on the Broncos, Rockies, and Nuggets. Above all other activities, Paulie was happiest spending time with his beloved wife Geri, children, grandchildren, siblings, and numerous friends. He was a true believer in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and cherished his time attending service at the 7th Day Adventist Church with his Mother Marcus who lived to the age of 103, and at New Beginnings Ministry Denver where his wife Geri devoted her time and became a Pastor. Our hearts are broken, tears are flowing, and no words can express our loss and sadness of Paul who was also affectionately known to his family as, “Mo”. His memory will live on forever as he was definitely a person that left a lasting impression to all that had the pleasure of meeting him. He endured some very tough physical obstacles during the latter years of his life, yet he rarely complained to others. His smile and humor will surely continue to bring a smile to our face and a chuckle to our heart every time a memory of Paulie is mentioned. We miss you Mo, and we will forever LOVE you. Services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, 11:00 am, at Redeemer Temple, 3701 W. 64th Ave, Arvada, CO. Following the funeral service will be a reception at The Masonic Temple, 3550 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO.
