Rose Bartola Delarosa Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rose B. Delarosa was born in La Junta, Colorado on August 24, 1937 to parents Gorgonio and Julia Jimenez. Rose was one of 11 children raised in Southern Colorado. After giving birth to her first child, Rose moved to Denver to pursue better opportunities. Rose’s first marriage to Alvin Proctor produced three more children who were educated in the Denver area. Rose’s career path for the next several decades led her into the food, retail, and hospitality industries which kept her close to her family and friends in North Denver for the majority of her life. Rose retired from Good Will Industries in 1999 but continued to volunteer in her community. Rose was a very loving, kind and compassionate woman. She loved her Catholic faith, her Saints, and prayer candles. Rose was very supportive and encouraging to all her neighbors and any stranger she met. There was hardly a soul that Rose did not know or want to befriend. Rose was family oriented, loved to be around her sisters, her best friends, and would often open up her house to her nieces, nephews, and others in need. Rose loved to have parties and celebrate every holiday and birthday with decorations, food, and her famous candy dishes. No matter the situation, circumstance, or scenario she expressed her love with quality time, buying gifts, or cooking her well-known pork green chili and cheese onion enchiladas. When visiting Rose you would often hear her serenading to the sounds of Vicente Fernandez and Antonio Aguilar. Rose was emphatic about her grandchildren and made it a priority to include them in everything she loved. Rose is survived by her three daughters, Cindy Quinones, Mary Garcia and Juanita Proctor; grandchildren, Vanessa Williamson, Julian Proctor, Andre Proctor, Eli Griffin, Megan Payne, Anthony Proctor, and Jaznique Proctor. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Delarosa: son, Alvin Proctor; grandchildren, Felicia Klein; both parents, Gorgonio and Julia Jimenez; brothers, Johnny Gonzalez, Domingo Gonzalez, and Felipe Jimenez; and sisters, Connie Ruiz, Jenny Tanner, Mary Uribes, Augustina Lucero, and Rosella Camarena.
