Vera Elvira Huereña

Vera Elvira Huereña, 82, of Denver, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on December 8, 2021, on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Vera was born on June 9, 1939 in Antonito, Co., to Felix Valdez and Ruth Alarcon. Vera was a woman of many talents who held a variety of occupations throughout her lifetime, above all dedicating her life to her family and her Catholic faith. Vera was a member of the Ambassadors of Mary and the Altar and Rosary Society at Guardian Angels Parish. Markedly, Vera held a deep admiration for the Blessed Virgin Mary and prayed the rosary daily. Vera is preceded in death by her husband, Ismael Huereña Sr, her parents, Felix Valdez and Ruth Alarcon, her brother, Donald (Cherie) Valdez, and her son, Kenneth Villanueba Sr. Vera is survived by her sisters, Barbara Alarcon and Sharon (Henry) Alarcon, children, Katherine (Michael) Gallegos, David (Virginia) Villanueba, Linda (Mat) Flores, Ruth Villanueba, Ted Huereña, Ismael Huereña, Jr, Augustina Redmond, Lois Huereña-Chavez (Jerry), Madeline Huereña, Paula Tafoya (John), Murrine Huereña, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Burial will be at 12pm on December 30, 2021
